Submental, Double Chin and Neck Liposuction
Submental, double chin, and neck liposuction is a procedure performed to reduce excess superficial fat in this region. It is especially beneficial in younger patients who have good skin quality but fat accumulation under the chin, in the double chin area, and in the neck. In suitable patients, it can also be performed under local anesthesia.
It is important to know the limits of this procedure. This method is effective only on superficial fat. It does not address deep neck fat, salivary gland prominence, or other structures that create fullness in the deeper plane of the neck. For this reason, it is not sufficient on its own in patients with deep neck fullness; a different type of operation is required in that group.
