Intro

Facial harmony is achieved not only through major surgical procedures but also through carefully selected complementary and maintenance-oriented treatments.

The procedures in this category are primarily used to support and refine the results of facelift and necklift surgery, or, when appropriate, to address specific aesthetic concerns in a more targeted manner.

Rather than being performed routinely, these treatments are selected individually based on anatomical needs, with the goal of improving facial balance, enhancing skin quality, and maintaining a natural appearance over time.

My surgical background in facial anatomy and reconstructive microsurgery allows for a controlled, precise, and natural approach in these complementary procedures.

Ear Surgery

Ear surgery is a more limited but highly useful surgical group in selected patients, including prominent ear correction, earlobe reduction / repair, and in selected patients, reduction of the entire ear. These procedures can often be planned under local anesthesia as well.

Prominent Ear Correction

Prominent ear correction is a procedure aimed at repositioning the ear farther back into a more natural position. It is usually performed through an incision placed in the natural crease behind the ear. For this reason, the scar is very well hidden and is generally difficult to notice from the outside.

This operation can also be performed under local anesthesia and, in suitable patients, may even be planned in an office setting. It is generally performed more often in younger patients, but it can also be carried out in appropriate older patients.

Earlobe Reduction and Repair

With age, the earlobes may become elongated and enlarged. Wearing heavy earrings can also accelerate this process. In some patients, this may be accompanied by a torn or stretched piercing deformity.

Earlobe reduction and repair aims, through a relatively simple operation, to restore the earlobe to a smaller, neater, and more youthful appearance. This procedure can be performed together with facelift, or comfortably in a separate session under local anesthesia. Scars usually heal very well.

Ear Reduction

What is meant here is reduction of the entire ear, not only the earlobe. With age, the general dimensions of the ear may also increase. In patients who are bothered not only by the lobe but by the overall size of the ear, a more balanced ear size can be achieved by making planned reductions of approximately 3 mm from the upper, middle, and lower portions of the ear.

This operation can be performed under local anesthesia and may also be combined with other procedures when appropriate. Because the scars lie within the folds of the ear, they heal well in most patients. However, it should be understood that this procedure is more extensive than earlobe reduction alone; for this reason, the incisions and the healing process are somewhat greater.
